The Secret Lives of Bab segi’s Wives - Lola Shoneyin

I read the secret lives of baba segi’s wives a few years ago and I really enjoyed it. Glad I picked it up again this January 😀

Baba Segi was a very hardworking and successful businessman who saw having children as a measure of his success, prosperity and “manliness”. Trouble began when his last wife could not conceive and this made him unsettled.

Having a backstory for each of the characters and narrating from their points of view added to the beauty of the story.

The themes cut across polygamy, infertility, jealousy, family strife and envy.

Have you read this book? What are your thoughts?
